What do you do if you drop your iPhone in water or get the liquid detection warning?

Don’t put your phone in rice! The common advice heard over the years is to put your phone in a bowl or bag of rice. Apple recently posted a support message saying that this advice is not a good idea. It turns out that putting your phone in rice could allow small particles of rice to damage your iPhone.
