I'm a Lead UX/UI Designer with over 14 years of experience and I have been out of work since February. I'm 56 and I DO believe that age is a factor. I have applied for over 300 jobs with only two phone interviews. I have had employees give referrals and still not even get an interview for the exact same job that I held at another financial institution.

I honestly don't know what to do at this point, but to pivot into some sort of adjacent career in tech.
