Microsoft held an event to showcase their new Copilot+ PCs on Monday, May 20, 2024. The event kicked off the Microsoft Build conference.

AI took center stage, with Copilot being the core part of Windows 11 and the hardware announced for the new Surface Laptop and Surface Pro.

Satya Nadella, Chairman and CEO of Microsoft, said that “the pursuit has always been about how to build computers that understand us instead of us having to understand computers.”

“Microsoft Copilot is your everyday AI companion.” It puts knowledge and expertise at your fingertips.

We are introducing a new AI models running locally to reason over your data, from text to pixels. The Surface Laptop and the Surface Pro are designed to take advantage of Windows AI features via their NPU, running 40 trillion operations per second.

The new hardware will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Series processors.

You can find more details and specifications on Microsoft’s event page.
